Bangalore: Apacer Technology , a supplier of ATA disk modules, unveiled the Solid State Drive (SSD), which combines the standard SATA II interface with RAID 0/1 functions. The new drive priced at 9,500 is called the SATA RAID Flash Drive (SRFD), which is designed with two external CompactFlash slots. The controller of Apacer's SRFD supports the latest SATA II high speed interface with no bandwidth limitations with a high speed CompactFlash card, which is used as a storage device. A switch sets RAID modes to improve data access speed (RAID 0), or data security (RAID 1). The SRFD supports RAID system management and operation for data backup functions for data security. The external CF slot is designed for simple stacking and assembly / disassembly. The Solid State Drives (SSD) are built with shock-resistance, durability, energy saving, and the capability of operating in extreme temperatures. Moreover, SRFD is suitable for applications such as surveillance systems, medical equipment and measurement instruments
