Anu Natarajan Appointed as Mayor Pro Term of Fremont

Bangalore: Anu Natarajan, an Indian American was appointed as Mayor pro term of Fremont, on December 29th, 2011. Earlier, she was the vice-mayor and had to take up the current position, following the death of Mayor Bob Wasserman.

Anu will be in charge of this position until the City Council makes arrangement to replace the post with a new mayor, who would take up this post within 60 days from the commencement of the vacancy.

Anu Natarajan has been living in Fremont for the last 14 years. She completed her graduation in Architecture and post graduation in Urban designing and planning from the University of Washington. She has worked as an architect, public agency planner and as an urban planning consultant.

She is Programme Director of American Leadership Programme and board member of stopWaste.Org. She worked for Fremont Planning Commission for a time period of two years, from January 2003 to December 2004.

She also offers services to community organizations and manages to get some time out of her busy schedule for her hobbies which include visiting new cities and examining their architecture, meeting people, and reading.
