Anil Ambani group forays into movie marketing

Mumbai: After successfully dabbling in movie production and distribution, the Reliance-Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (R-ADAG) has now forayed into the movie marketing arena through their new division BIG Boom. BIG Boom is a comprehensive movie and entertainment marketing division of Reliance BIG Entertainment Ltd. It is expected to be a one-stop shop for film marketing solutions, ranging from associative marketing to publicity design, public relations, promotions and merchandise. Explaining the need of such an enterprise, BIG Boom business head Rajesh Bhushan said: "Movie marketing has come of age in India. With breakthrough marketing strategies seen for films like 'Ghajini', 'Rock On', 'Om Shanti Om' and others, film producers are now realising the importance of a strategic and cost-effective method to promote their films. "These are times where every penny counts and Bollywood producers need marketing professionals to generate more bang for every buck while ensuring minimum excess." The company would also cater to marketing of films other than those under the Reliance banner. According to a press release, the company is already in talks with major producers such as Ravi Chopra of BR Films for their upcoming movies.
