Alliance consulting acquires Mensamind

HYDERABAD: Alliance Consulting Group Associates Inc., a $ 90 million IT consulting services and software solutions provider and subsidiary of Safeguard Scientifics, Inc. (NYSE: SFE), recently announced the acquisition of Mensamind, which has been renamed as Alliance India. With principal operations in Hyderabad, India, Alliance India specializes in the global delivery of software development, product development and related support services and recently was appraised at CMM Level 5. “Our Application Outsourcing practice has been in high demand with Corporate and ISV clients and the addition of Mensamind gives us the flexibility to do business the way our clients want, on-site, off site, offshore or a blended hybrid of the three,” said Anthony Ibargüen, Chief Executive Officer of Alliance Consulting Group. “Mensamind has a world class management team, the highest quality standards and an extensive delivery track record to clients around the world, making them a perfect fit for us.” “Alliance Consulting wanted to develop more flexibility to deliver Application Outsourcing services the way its clients want, whether on-site, off site or offshore.” said John Loftus, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Safeguard Scientifics. “We helped Alliance execute on that vision by providing them with dedicated resources to find and assess various opportunities in India, and then to evaluate, negotiate and close the Mensamind deal. We also assisted them in financing the acquisition”, added John Loftus. “Alliance’s 10 US sales locations and over 500 consultants give us the distribution leverage we need to achieve our objective of growing to 1,000 employees,” said Rao Tummalapalli, Managing Director, Alliance India. The Hyderabad-based executive management team, including Rao Tummalapalli, Gobind Baghasingh, Swaminathan Mani and Sarma Manthravadi, will lead the newly-named Alliance India. That team, along with US-based Senior VP John McDowell, will form the nucleus of Alliance Consulting’s Global Delivery Center of Excellence. The Global Delivery team has demonstrated global delivery success with a major technology manufacturer, a leading restaurant chain, a global banking institution and several software companies.
