Bangalore: Adobe has finally come up with a patch for its zero day vulnerability to view the PDF files. The Adobe Reader 9 and Acrobat 9 were endangered as the application would suddenly crash, allowing the hackers to take control of the system.
In order to prevent such attacks, the patch is to be downloaded twice- firstly for Internet Explorer and secondly for any other browser that is being used.
Adobe users have been advised to update Adobe Reader 9 and Acrobat 9 to Adobe Reader 9.1 and Acrobat 9.1.It also recommends the users to update the other versions of Acrobat 8 to Acrobat 8.1.4, and users of Acrobat 7 to Acrobat 7.1.1.Those who cannot update to Adobe Reader 9.1 are provided with the facility to download the Adobe Reader 8.1.4 and Adobe Reader 7.1.1.
