Inspired by her grandfather’s successful textile business (The Leela Lace) and hospitality venture which he set up when he was 64-years old, Aishwarya started capitalizing on her talent through baking and organizing innovative pastry exhibitions and gourmet pet food in the food and beveragesector. Aishwarya launched her bakery brand, Docle through the help of Sahachari foundation, which was her mother Lakshmi Nair’s charitable organization. “I always had a creative flair. And my family recognized it at the right time and channeled it towards food and beverage,” says Aishwarya, who picked up her skill for baking at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, New York City. Aishwarya also hosts exclusive wine tastings in India and works with two international fine dining brands, Megu and Le Cirque. Aishwarya donates a part of Docle’s proceeds to the Bombay Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
