8 Fuel-Efficient Cars In India

#Chevrolet Beat: The Chevrolet Beat is the hatchback with the smallest diesel engine on the list of cars here. It is powered by a 1.0 litre, 3-cylinder engine which churns out 58.5 PS and 150 Nm of torque. The gearbox on the car is a 5-speed one which is fun to drive and delivers ample amount of power in the city but struggles to maintain the good form on the highway with its small diesel motor. On the plus side, according to the auto car, Beat delivers an impressive efficiency of 16.1 Kmpl in the city and 19.1 Kmpl on the highway and according to the ARAI-rating tested conditions it delivered around 25.44 Kmpl.

# Hyundai Xcent: The Xcent from Hyundai is the newest on the list with an impressive efficiency of ARAI-rated 24.4Kmpl. Under the hood, it has an 1120 cc, 3-cylinder engine which belts out 71BHP of power with a 180 Nm of torque. It has a 5-speed manual gear box and according to Autocar, the Xcent delivers fuel efficiency of 16.1Kmpl and on the highway its 20.3 Kmpl which is a bit close to the numbers on Amaze’s efficiency. Based on the reports of top gear, every bit about the car is good, however the Xcent’s 3-cylinder motor can be a bit of problem when on the highway as a gear or two needs to be downshifted to get the most out of its engine.
