2. Google Friends Connect

Google Friend Connect is a free social networking site established on the 12th of May 2008. It is similar in practice to Facebook Platform and MySpaceID, it takes a decentralized approach, allowing users to build a profile to share and update information through messaging, photographs and video content via third-party sites. These sites act as a host for profile sharing and social exchanges.

This service will be ending on March 1, 2012 for all non-Blogger sites. Google also suggests affected sites to create a Google+ page and place a Google+ badge on their site so they can bring their community of followers to Google+ and use new features like Circles and Hangouts to keep in touch.
