7 Lessons From Random Steve Jobs Encounters

#6 Remember names

Ryan McGeehan, head of security at Facebook, ran into Jobs at a local Whole Foods, and this co-incidence stayed with him forever and became a lesson in this article. He said that Jobs was asking about the lemonade which McGeehan had in his cart, later they chatted on about various topics, and then ran out of conversation. McGeehan told Jobs it was nice to meet him. "He remembered my name and said 'bye,'" McGeehan wrote. Elated, he said "Then I told EVERYONE."

#5 Geeks are sexy

This lesson was considered from an incidence when an Indian iPad app developer mailed Jobs about her weird encounter. Chaitanya Pandit, an appdeveloper in India, was working late at a cafe testing his app on an iPad on a June 2010 evening.  A nearby girl was impressed that Pandit not only had the device which was not yet launched in India, but could also write an app for it.

Pandit emailed Jobs telling him about the encounter. It appeared on the screen at Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference a few days later, where Jobs said, “It (the iPad) is magical. I know it because I got this email: 'I was sitting in a café with my iPad, and it got a girl interested in me!' So there’s proof.”
