7 Inspiring Individuals in Science and Research Who Won Infosys Prize 2012


Of all the award winners, only Satyajit Mayor who won the award in Life Sciences category was present on this occasion, and said he was embarrassed and humbled at the same time. Embarrassed because of all the team members who worked on the project, including those who were present on the occasion, only he’s standing at the dais, and said he dedicates the award for all of them, and humbled because Infosys foundation has recognized their work. The remaining prize winners’ recorded voice was played in the venue and was same with the jury chairs too.   

Narayan Murthy, Chairman Emeritus, Infosys, and Trustee, Infosys Science Foundation said that the award includes, a citation certificate, gold medallion, and the prize money of Rs 50 Lakhs, and the two award winners for the Humanities will get Rs 25 lakhs each. And the award ceremony for the Infosys Prize will be held on January 3, 2013 in New Delhi, where Dr Gro Harlem Brundtland, the former Prime Minister of Norway and former Director General of the WHO , will felicitate the winners.
