60 percent of HNI Donors are Below 30 Years in India


69 percent of the philanthropic families said their youngsters are more onto leading the family’s charity decisions and giving it entirely a new outline. These GenNext donors from business families prefer to donate in a NGOs and private foundations rather than local religious bodies or informal projects.

The entire amount of donations also rose to 3.1 percent of their total income in 2011, from 2.3 percent of previous year. Almost 60 percent of youngsters surveyed said they will donate more in 2012.

“Education creates a more employable workforce. Global estimates have shown that creating an educated workforce could reduce poverty by 70 percent. India’s education needs must be urgently addressed, especially for the poor”, says, Deval Sanghavi, CEO of Dasra Foundation and founder of Indian Philanthropy Forum, as quoted by Indianexpress.
