He who had to quit his studies at the age of 17 to take over his father’s business, worked as a timekeeper  in the textile mill. In 1952 he started Atul limited which was India’s first modern dyestuff manufacturer. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 1968 by the Indian government.

He started his industrial career with a toy balloon manufacturing unit. He is the first south Indian Industrialist to be honored with the Padma Shree award. He founded the MRF Company which was manufacturing the tread rubber, later on became the only Indian-owned unit to manufacture the superior extrudent.

Jehangir Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata

He who was an aviator was India’s first licensed pilot in 1929 and was known as the father of Indian civil aviation. Tata Airlines which was founded by him is presently noticed as India’s National Airline. He was also honored with the India’s highest civilian award, the Bharat Ratna in 1992.

Ghanshyam Das Birla

He who is known as the doyen of Indian industries, entered into business field during the time of First World War. He started his career by setting up keshoram cotton mill and later founded the Birla Empire. He received the Padma Vibhushan by the government of India in 1957. To reward the contributions of scientists in the scientific research sector, the G.D.Birla award is established in his honor.
