The brother- sister duo known for their strong leadership skills, strived hard for Indian Independence. They joined the freedom struggle at a very young age and were also considered to be the greatest leaders of democratic India.

Nehru and his sister Vijaya Laxmi both had the burden of following their father Motilal Nehru’s footsteps. After Indian independence, Nehru became the first Prime Minister of India and Vijaya laxmi was the first Indian women to hold a cabinet post. They raised the stakes for the next generation of leaders, as they were being acknowledged by many for their style of governance.           

Both followed the family legacy and were the foundation for the Nehru-Gandhi family. Both of them supported each other during the independence struggle and they took part in many protests and rallies.
