5 Nations Facing the Highest Water-Stressed Risks

Bahrain: In a small island nation like Bahrain, the demand for water is increasing year by year. Waste water in this country started to occur by human activities and also include a wide range of pollution. As there is a limited awareness of Bahraini citizens about water limitations, they are using it without any concern or thinking.

Lots of percentages of water are being used incorrectly whether in plantings, home usage, or other water based activities. This has caused many issues relating to water, even to the citizens of Bahrain because water is a necessity resource in everything.

Jamaica: An island country, Jamaica is among the countries worldwide said to be facingextremely high levels of water stress. Andrew Maddocks, the communications co-ordinator at the WRI has urged Jamaicans to practice better water-management techniques as the situation is only going to get more severe in the future. "There's a lot of competition for surface water that's available in Jamaica. Farms, businesses and local communities that depend on the surface water are all competing for relatively limited sources," Maddocks exclaimed.
"In Jamaica, there is a heavy reliance on ground water because it drains more quickly and is harder to refill. And since roughly 40 per cent of Jamaica's population lives in cities, they will have to realise that they have limited water supplies and should manage those carefully," Maddocks added.
