Air Charter Services: Travelling is what involves a lot during elections to attend campaigns and rallies. Almost all the helicopters available commercially in India have been booked but still there are more helicopters in demand from political parties. In a report from NDTV, Sameena Haque of Orbit Aviation says, “If we fly 30-40 hours a month during non-election days, it is 60-70 or even 100 hours per month during elections for any operator.” She further added that private charter business really does well during election. It costs anywhere between 70,000-90,000 per hour for a single engine chopper; and as the civil aviation authority mentioned, VVIPs’ twin engine choppers costs around 1.2-1.5 lakh an hour.

And election being the most important event in India, television serves as the platform to compete with full pomp and show.
