2. Gucci

Today’s fashion industry would have been incomplete without the name of ‘Gucci’. Over the years, Gucci has been one of the most desired names in the fashion industry. Gucci’s history lies in Florence, Italy when Guccio Gucci was born (1981).

Due to lack of opportunities in Florence, Guccio left for London and started working in exclusives hotels as a dishwasher. While working in the hotels, Guccio was so influenced with the costly and luxurious luggage of the guests that after returning to Florence, he gathered a group of skilled workers and set up his own shop in 1920. Along with high end fabrication, his products also had the traditional Italian appeal in them.

Soon after the setting up the company, its products started getting attention of the customers in the local market. By this time, Guccio’s sons also joined the father’s business and the business started expanding.

Aldo Gucci, the elder son of Guccio played an important role in expanding the business. Within a few years, he took the business to New York, Paris and Tokyo. Gucci’s signature style, double-G with red and green bands started gaining popularity and became one of the common names in the fashion world.
