Dracula: Dead and Loving It:
5 Funniest Vampire Flicks of All Times
The movie is worth the watch because of Peter MacNicol's show-stealing performance as Renfield. It comes as no surprise that Brooks makes the most out of his role as Van Helsing, and it's nice to see Harvey Korman as Dr. Seward, even if he is lumbered with a recurring joke about being gripped with enemas. "Dead and Loving It" is repeatedly dismissed these days because the Lord of the Vampires is played by Leslie Nielsen, but at the time, Nielsen hadn't yet started to over-saturate the souk with sub-par slapstick comedies. But, probably Brooks always knew that, no matter how hilarious the movie would be, it was always intended to get the same four-word review from most critics: "it's no 'Young Frankenstein"3.
