The 45 year old computer engineer, Hemalatha Annamalai had quite the job before establishing her company in 2008. The Coimbatore based entrepreneur is expecting revenue of 100 crore in the next four years.

Lack of affordable and clean source of energy is one of the main concerns of rural India. Realizing the plight Rustam Sengupta launched ‘Boond’ in 2010 which not only solves energy problem in rural areas, but also provides after sale services and follow ups. The main challenge faced by the Delhi based company was to establish a strong sales and distribution network.

"I used to earn a salary of Rs91 lakh ($150,000)," said Sengupta. "But it is nothing compared to lighting up somebody's home." says Rustam Sengupta who was working as an electric engineer with an established company.
