HSBC caught eyeballs with their introduction of the scholarship competition in summer 2010. The bank invited students to submit 90-second videos about how they intend to make their mark on the world. After rounds of community and official voting, the bank awarded eight students with 15,000 pounds toward their university studies. This summer, the bank promoted the competition exclusively on Facebook and received enormous community participation, including 3,000 comments on the videos and 40,000 votes.
