4 Indian Americans in Forbes 'Billionaires List-2012'

Ram Shriram, a board member of Google who runs his own investment firm, Sherpalo Ventures is the second ranked Indian American on the list. He made it to this esteemed position with 1.6 billion dollars in assets.

The current investments of his company Sherpalo includes 24/7 Customer, StumbleUpon, Inkling and Paperless Post.

According to the magazine Forbes, Shriram is one of Google’s first investor and one of the first people who wrote a check to Sergey Brin and Larry Page, the co-founders of Google in the year 1998.

In 2005, Shriram was named as one among the top three high-tech dealmakers by Forbes, recognizing his talents and foresight. 'He is always eager to roll up his sleeves and work closely with founding teams on the challenging issues that confront and sometimes confound early stage ventures,' says Google, reports Rediff.

Shriram completed his graduation in science from Loyola College of Chennai, Madras University and holds an MBA from the Ross School of Business affiliated to University of Michigan.
