3Com's revenue down 3.5 percent

Bangalore: 3Com, a converged network infrastructure supplier, has registered a revenue of $324.7 million for fiscal 2009 third quarter ended 27 February 2009, a decrease of 3.5 percent compared to the revenue of $336.4 million in the same quarter in fiscal 2008. The GAAP net income was $1.9 million, compared with a net loss of $7.8 million, in the 2008 fiscal third quarter.
Revenue for the first nine months of fiscal year 2009 was $ 1 billion, an increase of 5 percent compared to the revenue of $973.6 million for the similar period in the previous year. On a GAAP basis the net income was $94.6 million, up from the net loss of $62.1 million for the first nine months of the prior year.
3Com generated $100 million in cash from operations in the third fiscal quarter 2009, while its cash and cash equivalents balance on 27 February 2009 was $560 million.
