Meeting with SAARC leaders: Prime Minister Modi invitation to Saarc leaders for his swearing-in has been described as a "right decision at the right time" and said his first major foreign policy initiative had sent out a message to the world about India's strength.

He referred to his initiative of inviting leaders of SAARC countries was a means to "give out a message to the world. They are still talking about it as to what happened, how it happened.

Lok Sabha’s First speech: In his maiden speech in Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a "heart touching" speech in Parliament and said he has the "will" to implement things he articulated on the floor of the House.
"Speech was very heart-touching. He spoke not only as the country's Prime Minister but also as somebody who nurtures it," Home Minister Rajnath Singh said when asked about Modi's reply to the debate on Motion of Thanks to the President's Address in Parliament.
