BANGALORE: 24/7 Customer, a 4000-people strong call centre and BPO firm, has decided to set up operations in Canada, in order to offer near-shore presence to its customers in the US. “We will start the centre from scratch. We have hired a local head who knows the terrain, and we are confident he will also be able to tap business opportunities in the region. The call centre should be operational in the second or third quarter of this year,” Mr S Nagarajan, founder and COO, told ET. While it isn’t certain how many people will be hired at the Canada centre, Mr Nagarajan said that they’d do the hiring when they are close to making a customer acquisition. “We are reasonably confident we can get business there on our own, so we are choosing to have a captive unit in Canada,” he said.
