Standard & Poor's Deven Sharma

Deven Sharma stepped down as President of Standard & Poor's only weeks after the rating agency issued a unique downgrade on the credit of the United States.

Deven Sharma was the President of Standard & Poor's, a Division of The McGraw-Hill Companies, presenting independent credit ratings, risk evaluation, indices and investment research. Deven boarded Standard & Poor's in 2006 as Executive Vice President, Investment Service and Global Sales. He resigned the company on August 23, 2011. Douglas Peterson, former Chief Operating Officer of Citibank is his successor in the company. Prior joining Standard & Poor's, he was Executive Vice President, Global Strategy at The McGraw-Hill Companies for five years.
