Sahil has lived all around the world in places like London, Singapore and New York, with his parents who are Investment Bankers.  He had always been a keen developer and has designed and sold many iPhone apps since his school days. At an early age of 14 he bought his first company, a video streaming website for $400. He then changed a bit here and there to generate torrents of traffic and sold the company for $10,000.

“I'm going from paying USC thousands of dollars to making thousands of dollars. What's more fun - writing an English essay or an iPhone app? For me, it's the latter” Sahil told The Times of India about his decision to drop out of college to get into entrepreneurship.

The founder of Gumroad is also an avid writer and frequently posts blogs on his web-site. A note on the blog site of this humble Indian techie reads “I'm just a 19-year old kid who likes building things. I design and code and all that fun stuff.” As the main designer for Pinterest, Sahil has helped the company become a revolution in the social networking with more than 12 Million users and a net worth on $200 Million and may be this time around he is looking forward to do some thing more world changing.
