A free email provider from the Middle East, Gawab was founded in 1999 and is one of the few email services that is based on Ajax programming language. Gawab provides users with free email storage service along with storage of POP and IMAP services. Other features include 10 GB of storage, virus protection for the document, filters and folders, drag and drop functionality, contact manager, and a max email attachment size of 50MB. According to most of the users, one of the main disadvantages that they come up with is its account expiration and advertisements, within the free service. But if the subscription is upgraded into one of their paid email plans, users can enjoy services without any advertisements and even receive SMS notifications. Recently Gawab was subjected to a number of hardware problems and delays- from 30^th May to 3 July 2011 to be exact, because of their servers which was located in Egypt, at the time of revolts across the nation.
