2. Comedian Gilbert Gottfried
Gilbert Gottfried was sacked by his employer Aflac, for whom he was a spokesperson, for making at least two jokes on twitter about the tragic tsunami events in Japan where he tweeted saying, "Japan is really advanced. They don't go to the beach. The beach comes to them.
He famously made a 9/11 joke just three weeks after 9/11 happened. Although the jokes were deleted, Gottfried followed them up with the statement, "I was born without a censor button. My mouth and now e-mail will continue to get me into trouble."
Gottfrield issued a statement of apology for his offensive tweets, "I sincerely apologize to anyone who was offended by my attempt at humor regarding the tragedy in Japan. I meant no disrespect, and my thoughts are with the victims and their families."
