3. Amazon Bought Zappos; Along with its Philosophies

In July 2009, Zappos, the Nevada based online shoe seller announced its acquisition by Amazon. The deal was closed for $850 million. Instead of merging the company, Amazon allowed Zappos to work as an independent subsidiary and took the principles of customer service, which Zappos was famous for. Many wrote, “Amazon bought Zappos for its employees and leadership who provides the legendary customer service.”
