#5 NeXT Cube

"Missing this would be like missing Thomas Edison unveil the phonograph," a photographer told the San Jose Mercury News in October 1988. The event was the unveiling of the NeXT Cube, a high-end workstation computer, in a typical Steve Jobs media frenzy style.

The specs amazed audience, Jobs thought its musical and scientific applications, will convince colleges to pay for it. All seemed fine until the consumers got the sight of its price- $10,000, and then they didn’t blink.

#4 Windows ME

Windows Millennium Edition, or Windows ME was a graphical operating system, successor to Windows 98 and was targeted specifically at home PC users. The product’s tagline read “So Many Possibilities.”

With Windows ME, Microsoft’s emphasis was on digital media, networking, and easy restore options. But uers had a different experience, the OS was crashy and prone to hardware and app errors. "If you upgraded to ME from an older version of Windows, you might feel that the term Millennium refers to the length of time it will take to fix the glitches," grumbled PC World.
