9. Tata Steel

Tata Steel is one of the dominating names in the Indian Steel industries having it’s headquarter in Mumbai, India.

Established on August 26, 1907 by Dorabji Tata, this company now is the 12th largest steel producing company in the world with a capacity of more than 23 million tones. It is one of the largest private sector steel companies in India and the twelfth largest steel manufacturing company in the world.

At present Tata Steel operates in countries like China, Singapore, Thailand, United Kingdom, Netherlands and many more.

10. State Bank of India (SBI)

For the first time, SBI has made it to this list. After LIC, SBI is the only private sector unit in this list.

Pratip Chaudhuri heads SBI as the Chairman with more than 290,000 employees. It is the largest banking and financial services companies in India with headquarter in Mumbai and 173 foreign offices in the world.

SBI’s total asset was reported to be $501 billion. SBI was ranked as the twenty-ninth most reputed company in the world by Forbes 2009. It has more than 15,000 branches.
