10 Corporate Honchos Who Are Utilizing Their Money To Help The World



Mark Zuckerberg:
Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, were the most generous American philanthropists in 2013, with a donation of 18 million shares of Facebook stock, valued at more than $970 million, to a Silicon Valley nonprofit. The Zuckerberg's donation was the largest charitable gift on the public record in 2013 and put the young couple at the top of the magazine's annual list of 50 most generous Americans in 2013, reported the Chronicle of Philanthropy.

Kris Gopalakrishnan:
Infosys co-founder, Kris Gopalakrishnan and his wife, Sudha, started the Pratiksha Trust over the last decade. Since then, the trust has been funding projects in various fields like education, healthcare, research and entrepreneurship. The most recent one being the donation of 225 crore to the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore for establishing the centre for Brain Research. Many of their philanthropic works are centered in and around Kerala, probably an effort by Gopalakrishnan, and Sudha to give something in return to the state where they grew up. Their foundation gives scholarships to medical and engineering students, and monthly pensions to senior citizens.
