My family background
I come from a upper middle clas family with my father in the government job and mother as a housewife. My spouse is a senior lecturer at a reputed MBA institution in NCR.

Both my younger sisters are employed in private industry.
Influenced by
Apart from my father, I am lucky to have excellent managers in my previous organization who have inspired me and provided opportunity to learn and groom me during the job.
Their people management skills have been commendable which helped me to understand the organizational behavior.
Couple of years from now
I have always been interested in getting into entrepreneurship and hope to pursue my dream in couple of years where apart from being myself employed, I also want to give employment to people and work on to setup my own organization and see it growing big with appropriate efforts.
My limited diverse career and management education will certainly help me to get into entrepreneurship.
Important lesson learned
There are a couple of then which I can talk about-
- In the technical industry you are a valued and inspiring professional only when you have developed expert skills in your area of work. Being a mediocre never helps you too excel with a vertical growth.
While being technical, it is very important to be a detailed person so as to do effective troubleshooting and gain knowledge.

- People are your highest strengths in your team and hence managing the people effectively is most important. You may have to work on and identify the individual areas and specifics for each individual to win them from your heart and get them to be efficient and effective. At times you may be able to win an individual only by understanding and helping himher in their personal life.
Thoughts on Education system of our country
The education system in India is improving but still needs to be practical and reality oriented as many of the stuff we learn during the education, lets say engineering, is not used or lacks the practical aspects of the job and industry. There is a huge gap in what is offered by the educational institutions and what is required in the industry.
I see that the management education is quite effective but only in the top institutions in India because they do not need to follow a set pattern in the curriculum like a university.
What I see as an opportunity is to have the industry and corporate work get into the education industry to make it more practical and service oriented. This will help to get a mix of theory as well as practical as demanded by the industry.
Currently management education is already working with the corporate in this direction.
My strongest skill
- SQL Server: Architecture and advanced troubleshooting
- Transition Management
- New teamsub organization building with setting up of processes and procedures
- Validation knowledge as required for Pharma industry and other regulatory requirements
Ensuring success
I recently completed my part time MBA to ensure that I am updated with the required knowledge and industry requirements.
I also recommend doing the relevant certifications from your field as I did for SQL Server during my technical stint.
Degree that I recommend

Qualities needed to become a successful leader
Ability to think wholistically with the macro view is very important for a successful leader as there might be lot of aspects that one may tend to skip.
At the same time it is important to develop your vision and align it with the vision of your organization or the industry.
Inspiring people is one of the very important and essential qualities for a successful leader.
Important decision
Striking and grabbing the right opportunity at the right time, as the opportunities and time doesn't wait for anyone and one should always be ready to grasp one if there is something which comes along.
My achievements
Being a high performer during my whole career is what I think is commendable, also while working one of the best employers (Microsoft) in the IT industry.
Brief description about me
I am an IT professional with about 9 years of experience having worked in services, core technology and FMCG industries.
My diverse experience within Information Systems field has provided me with immense exposure in both technical and functional side of things in the industry.
Having moved into the functional side, I decided to do my MBA from a reputed institute and hence I completed my part time management programme from MDI gurgaon recently after having an work experience of about 6 years.
Management education has really helped me to understand and work closely with the FMCG business and IS management as well as providing me an opportunity to move ahead in my career.
Initiative to develop a country
It is very important to show and prove the value of the work that we are doing in the organization. This also means that each function should provide insights for supporting business and help realize their potential to provide the competitive advantage.
The professionals should also be bold and willing to take risks she they think and decide to get into entrepreneurship. Generating jobs and spreading employment is very important for growing India to bring down unemployment and help to prosper the country by reducing imports, increasing exports and helping retain the talent in house.
