Comparison of current work from previous one
Every assignment gives an opportunity to learn and do something different. In my current role, I have the challenge of creating a standard organisation culture in a global and multi-cultural environment. Ensuring that we localise and still remain global in our approach is one area that I am enjoying the most.
Decision taken
I would like to call it "key career changing decisions" :)
Moving from software development to HR as a function one of the boldest steps I took in my professional life. This turning point came at a time when the organisation I was working was in the process of filing for my H1 visa. I formally got trained in HR before I fully got on to the role in-spite of having an Engineering and a PG in Computers. There are two key decisions that have changed my professional life.
Learnings
I would like to share three key lessons
1. Never be afraid to say NO
2. Be ready to roll on your sleeves if required
3. Trust your team and delegate key responsibilities when required
Describe your struggle of achieving success
This would be truly interesting and probably the varied moves

I began as a Technical Trainer, went into Software Development, Began as an Asst. Manager HR, worked up the ladder through promotions and organisation moves to now head the HR function as its Director.
After few years
This is something that I have not consciously thought about, but I would see myself as an HR influencer and Strategist helping the organisation move towards NEXT Practices.
Important Decisions
Studying and getting a formal education in HR.
Upgrading my skills and getting trained regularly to ensure that I am updated with latest in the domain.
Being active on Twitter and connecting with like-minded people.
Personal Information
I am an HR Professional and in my free time love to spend time Public Speaking and helping others. I am an Engineer by degree and after dabbling with technical training and software development, now enjoying working with people as a part of the HR team. I had the privilege to work with some excellent bosses who were friends and mentors. Thanks to their valuable guidance I have become better as an individual and as a professional. They taught me that no matter what you are, where you are, never forget the roots. My family and friends are the pillars of my strength and have stood by me during thick and thin.
