Freida Pinto, the star in the Oscar-winning 'Slumdog Millionaire' is one among the most successful India origin actresses in Hollywood. Following the success of this Oscar winning film, the Indian model turned actress has landed a series of lucrative roles with top directors, including Woody Allen and Julian Schnabel.
According to a report in the DailyTelegraph, she has pushed ahead of her rivals, Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and former Miss World Aishwarya Rai, to become the highest paid actress in India."Freida is fast reaching top status in the international arena. The actress's projects with big film-makers like Woody Allen have helped her join a league which no other Indian actress has achieved so far," said a film analyst.

A Canadian actress and former model, Lisa Ray is who was named as the "ninth most beautiful woman of the millennium,” by a poll conducted by Times of India. She was a victim of multiple myeloma (a cancer of white blood cells); but fought against it and got rid of it in ten months.
