Bangalore: Entrepreneurship is not a quality that an individual develops over time, it is a skill or a talent that an individual is blessed with and when the time and the resources are in place he or she is able to portray the leadership that was lying dormant in them for so long.  The President and co-founder of Kiva.org, Premal Shah, an Indian American was honored as Crowdfunding Champion of Change at a recent event. . The event basically focuses on those entrepreneurs who have done extraordinary work in the field of crowdfunding for startups, small businesses and innovative projects across the nation. The internet has become a massive tool for business operations thus the purpose of crowdfunding is to use this platform mainly to generate money in small amounts from a large group of people.

Many entrepreneurs in the United States have got substantial support to their startups with donation based crowdfunding. Now the Investment based crowdfunding is to be facilitated by the Jumpstart our business startup act or the JOBS act which president Barack Obama signed last year and will be implemented by the Securities and exchange commission of the United States. Champion of Change was organized by The White House to recognize and honor those extraordinary Individuals, businesses or organizations that have set examples for their community by laying a path that they could follow.
