Bangalore: Sunita Williams expects to see NASA and ISRO working together sometime in the future and according to Williams the government of our country needs to accelerate its space programme, as the interest of students in this field has been increasing.

Sunita also says that the US and India are developing a positive relationship in the area of astronomy.

"Over the time I had been at the NASA, I had seen that relationship between India and United States going on a much more positive direction, particularly when it comes to space," Williams, said, reports PTI.

Sunita didn’t get the consent to visit people from the Indian space agency, on her first visit and she adds, "And now I see that people from ISRO and NASA are talking together."

Williams expressed her notion about the collaboration between Indian and the U.S. on a question whether there was scope for the two space agencies to work together. According to her, India should not restrict its skill in launching satellites alone, it can do lot more in this field.

Williams was in Kolkata to be a part of an interactive session with students and space enthusiasts.
