Chrysler: The automobile manufacturing company had to do a major layoff back in 2001 due to economic slowdown. The company laid off 26000 employee under the newly appointed CEO Dieter Zetsche, which was the worst layoff the company had witnessed but was necessary according to the CEO. The company went into a merger after that it started to grow again.

In 2007, Chrysler became independent again but went on to face many challenges. As of the present, Chrysler is back on track with substantial increase in revenue.

Cisco: This software company cuts off 500 workers early last year under the leadership of John Chambers, in the name of restructuring. It didn’t stop there, with a disappointing quarter, in addition to the earlier 500 jobs it cut down another 6,500 jobs in the last two years. Ever since disappointing quarter reports, the company has been downsizing its numbers in an incredible rate.

The company is also suffering a great competition that is placing it on its back heels due to the advancement in cloud computing technology.

Ford: The American automobile company is one of the biggest car manufacturers in America as well as the world. The company back in 2002 had the worst layoff of 35000 employees. This was during the then chairman and CEO William Clay Ford Jr. who made the move due to the economic slowdown started from the end of 2001.
