Xbox Music Opens Up For Apple And Android

Bangalore: Microsoft has loosened the grip of their music streaming service, Xbox Music after realizing that the service cannot survive only by serving windows users. The facility is now made open to Apple and Android users as part of company’s strategy to increase its market share and to compete with other streaming services.

The app which was initially restricted to windows based browser can now be accessed through any browser of your choice. The unpaid version of the app will have advertisement banners and a limit on the number of the songs that can be streamed; however paying a monthly subscription fee will make the service completely unlimited.

The app is completely free when downloaded and the cap on the service will be imposed only after 6 months of use. Microsoft has also added a stunning feature where all the music added to the user’s Xbox Music collection will be automatically synchronize with other registered Android, iOS and Windows devices.

Scott Porter, principal program manager at Xbox Music said “Music needs to be something that freely connects between devices for users to be happy. Windows users spent time curating and discovering new music and we need to give them access wherever they are.”
