World's 10 Most Powerful Tech Brands 2014


BANGALORE: According to a survey done by CoreBrand, a brand strategy firm, Apple is the only brand to come among the top powerful global brands. This survey is based on how familiar executives were with a particular brand and how favorably they viewed them.  Here is a list of brands that are most powerful in the field of technology:

1. Apple: The company founded by Steve Jobs, Steve Woznaik, and Donald Gerald Wayne, is ranked number one in the most powerful technological brands. It is ranked tenth in the overall list of Top 100 Most Powerful Brands, and has shown notable changes from 2013 when it was in the 18th place and 2009 when it was in the 29th place. Apple designs, manufactures and sells mobile, computers, software, portable music players, and third party digital content and applications. Macs, iPod, iPad, iPhone, and Apple TV are some products sold by Apple; their software includes iOS, OS X operating systems and iCloud; Apple apps are also available through Apple App Store, iTunes Store, Mac App Store, and iBooks Store.

2. Microsoft: One of the world’s most valuable companies, Microsoft, came 11th in the top 100 brands and is ranked 2nd among the top 10 tech brands after Apple. Founded by billionaire Bill Gates in the year 1975, Microsoft is the producer of operating systems for personal computers, phones, servers and other intelligent devices. Windows operating system by Microsoft is used mainly in phones; it has a cloud-computing platform called Windows Azure. It also produces Microsoft Office that is the company line of office software and some of its hardware products include mice, keyboards, joysticks, and gamepads.
