TCS Wins Multi-Million Dollar Deal From French Firm GDF Suez

NEW DELHI: Services has won a multi-million dollar multi-year contract from energy sector major GDF Suez to standardize CRM and billing applications across France, Belgium and the Netherlands, the company said today.

The deal is Tata Consultancy Services’ (TCS) first major contract in France, post its acquisition of Alti SA in 2013.

Paris-headquartered GDF Suez is an electric utility firm, which operates in the fields of electricity generation and distribution, natural gas and renewable energy.

“The engagement is to support GDF Suez to rationalize and standardize the CRM (customer relationship management) and billing applications across France, Belgium and the Netherlands,” TCS said in a statement.

This is the first landmark deal won by its new integrated entity emerging through its acquisition of Alti SA in July last year, it added.

TCS had also recently unveiled plans to further activate the capabilities and talent pool it had acquired by setting up a new TCS SAP Innovation Centre, the Mumbai-headquartered firm said.

The centre will seek to develop modern enterprise solutions for multiple industries, in co-innovation with TCS’ customers. It will be located in the e-de-France region and is expected to be operational later in 2014, it added.

TCS — India’s largest software services exporter — has been operating in France since 1992 and has over 50 clients in the country, including several of the CAC 40.

Over the last five years, the company has significantly strengthened its position in the country through local hiring and investments.

It was given the ‘Deal maker of the year 2013’ award by Finance Monthly.
