Indians Spend More On Digital Products: Survey


BANGALORE: Indians are very specific when it comes to spending their hard-earned money; they are tight-fisted.

As technology develops and takes over every aspects of life, being in connection with growth and money become vital.

With growing use of messenger apps, stickers used in messaging apps have become a major attraction for Indians and are venting out money for these. Indians also pour a significant amount of money into games and virtual currency.

Indians are ready to spend between 71-129 on digital products related to messaging, according to a report by mobile ad network InMobi. The report was based on a one-month survey of 455 SmartPhone users on their ad network. Messaging apps were the major attraction over social networks and voice calls. Messenger apps were widely used for purchases according to the Bangalore-based company; reports The Times of India.

"We also see advertisers using these platforms for emotional engagement as well as experimenting with launching services that they have already done in their home markets like Japan and China," said Jayesh Easwaramony, vice president and general manager, APAC, Middle East and Africa, InMobi.
