How To Keep Your Gmail ID Secure From 'Google+ Strangers'

Bangalore: ‘Google+’ the social networking site from the internet giant Google is planning to go a step ahead by introducing a new feature that merges the email service together with the social network. The integration will open a new door to a new scenario where one can send e-mail to anyone on the Google+ network without necessarily knowing their e-mail ID, reports TOI.

Even though the new feature won’t display the e-mail address until responded back, it is not completely secure and can lead to a spam like situation. According to sources, the new feature will be added within a few days and can be removed without much trouble.

CNET, a micro blogging site has provided step wise instructions on how to undo the new feature that will automatically take effect. Clicking on the Setting menu and turning off the 'by default email via Google+ feature' under the General tab can take you off from this newly expected feature. Users can also choose from other options like 'Circles', 'Extended Circles' or 'No One' and save the changes to retrieve back the old settings.
