Google Set To Develop Cost-Effective Aerial Delivering Technology

BANGALORE: Google has come up with an innovative idea of aerial technology to deliver packages to the customers more quickly. Although the program is escalating Google’s services, it is rivaling Amazon. Earlier it was reported that Amazon is already testing ground on self-flying vehicles to carry commodities bought by customers of its online store.

Google has named the project as “project wing” and it is estimated that it will take some years to implement this services into the operation. According to Google,” test flights in Australia delivered a first aid kit, candy bars, dog treats and water to two farmers after traveling a distance of roughly one kilometer, or just over a half mile, two weeks ago,” reports ABC news.

Although both e Amazon and Google are steadily working on improving their fleet drone technology they still need to take government approval regarding the fly commercial drones in various countries and it seems that would be the most difficult task for these web giants.

Drones appears to help Google in expanding its existing service that carries merchandise purchased online on the day they are ordered. So far, Google has succeeded in offering same-day delivery service by automobiles in parts of the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles and New York.

Google said in a pamphlet outlining Project wing, "Self-flying vehicles could open up entirely new approaches to moving goods, including options that are cheaper, faster, less wasteful and more environmentally sensitive than what's possible today," reports ABC news.
