Google Presents Schedule and Live Stream for Rio Olympics 2016


BENGALURU: Olympics fever all over the World, just before the beginning on August 5, 2016, Google has announced with the enhanced features for the fans of Olympics and Google. Google has introduced features to enable its users to receive updates and alerts for top events and medal wins. The new features are going to available at Google Search, Google Maps, and YouTube.

Google plans to offer live updates on this Olympic event, which going to be held at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil via cards. These cards will include information on event schedules, athlete information, medal updates and so on. According to the company, "the new set of features will help fetch fans closer to knowing more about their favorite athletes and sports disciplines." Google also points out that if users search for information on the Google app on Android or iOS, they will have the option to enable automatic updates on events and medals won.

To bring live actions and location view of the events which takes place at RIO, Google has sent Google Street View Trekkers into the Olympic Park to capture 360 degree image of the places.

Users can also view video highlights from official broadcasters of RIO Olympics that will be covering the event from 60 countries worldwide via youtube. The search giant is also sending 15 top YouTube video developers to Rio Olympics 2016 event to show and give a glimpse to their subscribers through mobile live streaming feature. Also, Google will be showing the Olympic-based search trends, data visualizations, and insights as well.
