Google CEO Larry Page Seriously Ill, Loses Voice

Bangalore: Several speculations are spreading about the health condition of Google’s CEO Larry page, who has apparently lost his voice and was forced to skip Google’s annual stakeholder meeting over the weekend.

Google has not yet revealed any details about the mysterious ailment Larry is suffering from. But the company said this ailment will also cause Larry to miss the Google's big developer conference this week and the second quarter earnings call next month. This had prompted speculation that his health problems may be more serious.

According to a source, Page had sent an email to the employees on Thursday saying that there was "nothing seriously wrong with me." But the media apparently is not ready to believe his words and are comparing the situation with what happened to Apple’s former CEO Steve Jobs who died last year after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Apple had given vague and positive statements about Job’s condition along the way.

Many demand Google should reveal the CEO’s condition including a post which said: “while many people, including senior business executives, prefer to keep health matters private, public company CEOs have responsibilities to a ‘wide set of constituents, some of whom have a legitimate claim to know about material information’." Apparently, Larry has not posted anything on Google+ since May 25.

The silence from Google had made some people, including Business Insider reports that Larry is suffering from a major illness, even be possibly thyroid cancer.

For Google and the world, Larry's health condition could be regarded as a seriously significant issue since him, along with co-founder Sergey Brin and Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt has majority control of the internet company through special voting shares.
