After Nadella, Another Indian To Get Top Seat At Microsoft; To Be Nokia's Next CEO

BANGALORE: Indians are turning out to be quite hot favorites with tech giants be it Microsoft or Google. The newest entrant to the list is Rajeev Suri, the head of Nokia's telecoms network equipment division, who is likely to replace Stephen Elop as Nokia’s next CEO following the Microsoft acquisition. The other Indians at top positions include Satya Nadella, CEO Microsoft, Sundar Pichai Head Of Android, Google, Nikesh Arora, SVP and chief business officer at Google and many more.

The Finnish news paper Sanomat has cited the sources close to the company’s executive matters that Suri is the strong contender for the top post after Elop moves back to Microsoft after $7.5 billion buyout deal is completed, reports Reuters. The deal is to come through by end of March following which Nokia is to get its new CEO.

Suri is apparently the strongest contender to the top post at Nokia as in recent years has turned around the Finnish company’s network equipment division, Nokia Solutions and Networks (NSN), into profitable entities.

However the recent reports show that NSN’s shares have declined in the Q4 which is a reason for concern since Nokia’s 90 percent of the sales after handset deal. Hence Nokia is sure to be on a lookout for a new CEO as quickly as possible. However Nokia did not make any comment on the selection process, instead Nokia’s spokeswoman Maija Taimi said, "We will talk more about the Nokia strategy, structure and organisation around the closing of the pending transaction."
