10 Technologies That Changed The World Of Sports

Football Helmet Earpiece:  In a game like American football, the quarterback runs the play, because of which, coaches used to run back and forth giving them the game plan.. This can get really tiring, just think about it, running back and forth like sixty to seventy times, not a good idea.

To make the work of the coach easier and less tiring, a new technology was developed called the Football Helmet Earpiece. This new helmet allows the coach to communicate with the players from off the field directly through the earpiece worn by some players on the field. Thus coaches no longer need to run on to the field or stop the play to discuss game plans.

Hawk Eye: This certain piece of technology has taken the sports world by storm. Most of the sports have adopted the technology that has allowed them to have fairer decisions and assists with challenge system.

Hawk Eye is a group of cameras positioned in various angles around the court or stadium focusing on smaller objects like the balls in tennis and cricket, and then it triangulates the movements of the object. This is very useful for replays and during challenge systems. This gives the players surety for an accurate decision and also helps the officials from making errors that could change the course of the game.

Pitch Tracker: This particular technology that was first adopted by baseball has been modified over the years. As the name suggests, in baseball, this technology tracks a pitcher’s throw. This technology has helped the players, viewers and coaches. The players can learn from their throw patterns, which will help them direct their pitch to the weaker spots of the hitters. Coaches have used this piece of information to help their hitters learn the pitchers patterns of throwing and get used to the patterns in practice nets.
