#1 Apple Lisa

In 1983, Apple had a lot riding on the Lisa: The company needed a solid follow-up to the ubiquitous Apple II. It was the first personal computer to offer a graphical user interface in an inexpensive machine aimed at individual business users. The device sported features like protected memory, cooperative multitasking, a generally more sophisticated hard disk based operating system, a built-in screensaver, support for up to 2 MB of RAM and many others.

But the device was a big flop, thanks to high price and a failure to connect with enterprise customers.

In 1982, Steve Jobs was forced out of the Lisa project, so he joined the Macintosh project instead, which became Apple's next great hope after the Lisa fizzled. The final insult, described in his biography: Jobs calling the Lisa product team "B Players" before laying off many of them.
