Virtusa Corporation, a leading provider of digital engineering, and technology services, is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of the 8th edition of the Pragyan Hackathon. This collaborative effort with the esteemed National Institute of Technology, Trichy (NIT Trichy), unfolded at Virtusa Corporation's state-of-the-art facility in Navalur Campus, Chennai from January 27th to 28th, 2024.

The Pragyan Hackathon, a flagship event organized by NIT Trichy, brought together creative and curious minds for a 32-hour coding showdown. This year's edition, held under the theme of Finance Technology (blockchain), Smart Cities, and Environmental Sustainability, saw 200+ participants pushing the boundaries of innovation and showcasing their prowess in crafting transformative solutions.

The highlight of the event was the staggering prize pool worth 1.5+ Lakhs. NIT Trichy triumphed in both the Blockchain and Smart City categories, securing a prize of 75,000 rupees each. Meanwhile, Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, secured the top spot in the Environment Sustainability category, winning 75,000.

The hackathon witnessed cutting-edge solutions and applications developed by talented teams. Participants leveraged their skills to address real-world challenges and create impactful solutions. With participants hailing from diverse backgrounds and skill sets, the hackathon fostered an environment of cross-collaboration. Teams worked seamlessly, merging their unique perspectives to create well-rounded and innovative projects. The event featured expert guidance from industry professionals and a distinguished judging panel. Participants had the opportunity to receive valuable feedback and insights from seasoned professionals in the tech industry.
