Will you get along with the team?

 Team size of Startups varies. The lesser the number of people involved,  more the responsibilities you have share. In case of bigger Startups, try to know the composition of the company’s work force. While joining a startup, if you have little doubt on interacting with the people there, take a step back. And if you get along with them, then shoot the arrow. Remember, in corporate there are many tiny groups and you can shift between them. In case of Startups, it’s inter-related. Hence be careful of your peer connections.

What’s the history of the basic idea? What other ideas were assessed and discarded?

Get along the mission, vision, aim and goal of the company. These will help you to foresee where exactly the Startups lie in future. If the timeline predicts the longevity as short term then invest time in deciding your next call. If you think that the Startup has brighter prospects and plans ahead, then do join as soon as you can.
